In the present investigation, one pheromone based attractant namely Citral- Z and three plant based lures like fruit extract of Fagara budrunga, leaf extract of Swetia densifolia and tuberose scented water have been evaluated along with sugar solution and a commercial queen mandibular pheromone based attractant namely Fruit boost. After first spraying of bee attractants both Fruit boost (8.23 bees/1m2/5 minute) and sugar solution were superior enticing more bees. The plant based attractants viz., S. densifolia, F. budrunga and tuberose floral scented water as well as the pheromone based Citral Z were on par with each other and attracted next higher number of bees. A similar trend was also observed after second spraying of bee attractants. The results of present investigation clearly showed that all the four indigenous bee attractants were significantly superior over control but second best to the commercial bee attractant.
