STUDY ON FISH FAUNAL DIVERSITY IN THE BISALPUR RESERVOIR NEAR DEOLI CITY, RAJASTHAN

Abstract:
Present research paper deals with studies on fish faunal diversity of Bisalpur Reservoir at Kakoriya village near to Deoli city, Rajasthan. Bisalpur reservoir is a part of Banas River system and is very important from fisheries point of view. Hence, the reservoir was surveyed in the year 2014. Twenty one species of fishes belonging to eleven families under seven orders were recorded from the study area. Cypriniformes was the dominant order represented by eleven species followed by Siluriformes with four species & Perciformes with two species. Osteoglossiformes, Synbranchiformes, Beloniformes & Clupeiformes were represented by one species each.
